I don’t remember the specific context, but a few years ago I stumbled across a YouTube video of a five-year-old kid named Quinn Sullivan who could stun people who study and practice the blues for years. Here he is playing The Beatles’ “Twist and Shout” on The Ellen Show in early 2006 at just six years old:

On a lark today, I searched online for “5 year old blues guitarist,” because I wondered all of a sudden, apropos of nothing, where Quinn was, or if he was still playing music — but had forgotten his name. It seems he’s now in high school, he’s even more polished a guitarist than he was in his prodigious youth, and he can sing remarkably well for a kid whose voice is probably changing on a daily basis. Here’s a song he wrote about meeting Buddy Guy as a child:
